Description

Eliminate EXPENSIVE SCADA radios or EXPENSIVE cable trenching between dry contact sense points and programmable logic controllers or other dry contact reader end-points.

No wires, No radio license, No sim cards, No IT, No programming, No gateway… True Wire Replacement

Using the BATTLE HARDENED, TRIED AND TESTED, LORA (LOng RAnge) wireless protocol, now you can eliminate cable runs of up to 8 miles (or 15km). Of course the LORA loves line of site, but this is also a low frequency spread spectrum technology that can penetrate walls easily. Of course any obstacle reduces the range. This isn’t silly “toy band” radio, this is a spread spectrum frequency hopping radio system that can handle demanding environments.

Each WIRELESS dry contact wire replacement consists of a specially matched endpoints: one end sensing 4x dry contacts as a transmitter and the other end a receiver that outputs/reflects/mirrors those 4 dry contact signals so that a larger control system can read them.. These matched endpoints are interconnected by the rock solid LORA wireless technology.

These are viable alternatives to the SCADALink SR900 or RIO900 except the protocol (LoRa) is named and not a secret.

Dry Contact Wireless Transmitter Unit (replaces 4 wire pairs)

  • UP TO 4 contacts can be sensed
  • HUGE: You do not need a voltage source to sense the contacts. Only hook the relay outputs to these inputs. The open/close state is sensed without ANY additional connections, resistors or power sources!!!!
  • 5-24V DC inputs
  • Channel Count: Supports up to 4 dry contact signal pairs
  • Power: 140mA per transmission / 4mA in idle
  • Paired with a Receiver Unit – This allows for MANY WIRES in an installation, but eliminating 4 per Transmitter/Receiver
  • This is the end that connects to up to 4 dry contacts. Ok to connect just one, but you can do 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  • On a periodic basis that is adjustable, (standard is one min) the transmitter samples the contact and then transmits the the state of the contacts over the LoRA radio
  • Many of these remote transmitters are powered by small solar installations (you can find easily on Amazon, etc.)

Dry Contact Wireless Receiver Unit – Locate Near your PLC

  • Receives the dry contact state (open/closed) from the paired transmitter unit
  • Places/Reflects the measurement as a dry contact output.
  • 5-24V DC inputs
  • Power: 30mA in idle / A 140mA ack/nack transmission will be sent back to the Transmitter
  • Paired with one Transmitter Unit – allows for MANY Replacement WIRES in an installation
  • This is the end that connects to a a dry contact reader/receiver such as a PLC
  • On a period basis determined by the Transmitter Unit, this receiver receives the dry contact states digitally and then updates its dry contact states that are an exact mirror of what the Transmitter Unit detected. Very cool.
  • Generally, this wireless receiver unit will have power on its end as it is close to many devices which dry contact inputs for a control system.

Why LoRa is a GREAT choice for industrial point to point Wireless Wire Replacements

LoRa Wireless Protocol

  • This product uses a POINT TO POINT mode for LoRA radios and NOT a LoRaWAN implementation
  • Superior spectral efficiency compared to SCADA FHSS radios
  • Superior link budget compared to SCADA FHSS radios
  • Deterministic round trip delays.
  • Truly implements a “wireless serial cable”
  • Both Units
    • ISM Frequency Bands 915MHz (USA)
    • FCC Certified (USA) & IC (Canada) requirements
    • CE marked
    • RoHS compliant
    • DIN Rail Mounts
    • Professionally Molded Case with custom fit electronics
    • This product is built for scale production
  • LORA Wireless Key Bullets
    • AES 128 bit encryption
    • Absolutely NO SIM CARDS required.
    • Security uses several magic numbers
    • Uses ISM bands and requires no special licenses
    • Transmission power are carefully maintained within FCC power envelope
    • As of March 2026, over 500 million LoRa Radio based integrated circuits have been deployed worldwide
Can I use my existing signaling dry contacts?

Yes. The big idea with these wire replacements is that they are truly wire replacements.

How far can I sent my dry signal contact wireless replacement signals

The very best of cases would be 8 miles. Realistically a mile or two is pretty easy with sloppy line of sight.

Do I need to work with IT to add this set of radios?

No. These radios ONLY replace the wire. You don’t have to work with IT to install wires, so you should not have to here.

Do I have to do anything special at my PLC or controller?

No. You will wire your PLC with the same two wires that WOULD HAVE CAME from the actual wires except that they come from the receiver unit.

Do I need a gateway?

No. These are only wire replacements with wireless radios.

Are these FCC certified?

Yes, these radios use FCC certified radio modules.

Do I have to pay a monthly fee or other recurring payment?

No. These only replace the wires. Just like a wire does not cause recurring payments, neither will these.

How Point-to-Point LoRa Replaces Expensive 4-20mA Current Loop Wiring in Industrial Applications

Introduction In industrial settings—especially oilfields, water treatment plants, and manufacturing facilities—4-20mA current loopshave long been the standard for transmitting sensor data (pressure, temperature, flow). However, trenching and running wires for these loops is expensive, time-consuming, and inflexible. Point-to-point LoRa wireless technology offers a cost-effective, reliable, and scalable alternative to wired 4-20mA loops. Unlike proprietary high-reliability radios (which are prohibitively…
